Kishore R. Shah, Ph.D.

Dr. Shah has been the President of Polytherapeutics since its inception. He is also the inventor of the patented PharmaDur® drug delivery technology, which was developed at Polytherapeutics. He received his master’s degree in polymer science from Lowell Technological Institute in Lowell, MA and doctoral degrees in organic chemistry from University of Maryland in College Park, MD. He has over 25 years of research experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry, including Bristol-Myers Squibb and Johnson & Johnson. His technical expertise includes development of polymeric biomaterials, their applications, and controlled drug delivery technologies. Dr. Shah is experienced in taking products from concept to commercialization. He is an author or coauthor of more than 45 patents and technical publications, several of which are in the field of transdermal drug delivery. Dr. Shah is currently a member of Technical Advisory Board of the TRANSDERMAL magazine.

Edwin U. Keates, MD

Dr. Keates has been associated with Polytherapeutics as Medical/Scientific Advisor. Dr. Keates is a prominent and nationally recognized ophthalmic surgeon based in Jenkintown, PA. He has his clinical practice at Northern Ophthalmic Associates, of which he is a founder. During his illustrious medical career, Dr. Keates has held several key hospital and administrative appointments, including Chairman, Department of Ophthalmology, Albert Einstein Medical Center (1969-1995) and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and the Scheie Eye Institute (1980-Present). He has also served on the Advisory Board and Committees of the FDA. Dr. Keates has consulted extensively with pharmaceutical and medical device companies in the field of ophthalmology. He has been an author or co-author of more than 50 scientific publications.

Bozena B. Michniak-Kohn, Ph.D.

Dr. Bozena B. Michniak-Kohn is a Pharmaceutical/Scientific Advisor to Polytherapeutics. Dr. Michniak-Kohn obtained her Ph.D. in Pharmacology in 1980. Currently she is a tenured Professor in Pharmaceutics at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers-The State University of New Jersey, Piscataway, NJ and the Director of the Laboratory for Drug Delivery of the New Jersey Center for Biomaterials (NJCBM). Dr. Michniak has directed over 25 Ph.D. students, 6 Masters students, and 200+ undergraduates and the work resulted in over 350 abstracts, 3 patents, 2 books, 27 book chapters, and over 100 papers. She is a reviewer for over a dozen pharmaceutical and drug delivery journals, is a Consultant to over half a dozen pharmaceutical companies and is an expert in the area of transdermal and topical drug delivery.

Dr. Michniak-Kohn’s main research focus lies in the area of topical and transdermal drug delivery-TDD. Her group is involved in the design and testing of novel dermal penetration enhancer and retardant compounds, investigation of their mechanisms of action and transport through the skin layers, molecular and computational modeling of enhancers as well as optimization and testing of topical and transdermal formulations. Studies also involve novel carrier systems such as nanospheres and investigation of skin pathways with confocal microscopy and Raman /FTIR/terahertz spectrometry. Physical drug delivery enhancement techniques are studied such as iontophoresis.

Paul Thau, B.S. (Pharmacy)

Mr. Thau is associated with Polytherapeutics as Cosmetic/Scientific Advisor. He currently operates a cosmetic consulting company, PaCar Tech, which specializes in the areas of innovative product development, new cosmetic raw materials, technology transfer, and technology acquisition. Mr. Thau is one of the well-recognized experts in the cosmetic field. He was employed at Cosmair/L’Oreal USA for over 22 years, during which time he served as Assistant Vice-President of Cosmetic R&D and then as Senior Research Fellow. His cosmetic industry experience spans more than fifty years and includes R&D positions at Revlon, Bristol-Myers, CIBA Pharmaceutical, and Warner-Lambert. Mr. Thau has served the Society of Cosmetic Chemists in many capacities including Chairman of the N.Y. Chapter during 1971 and as President of the National organization in 1988. Later he was a member of the IFSCC Presidium and Scientific Committee. Paul is a Fellow of the SCC, and is a patentee or co-patentee on fourteen issued U. S. patents. He was presented with the Society of Cosmetic Chemists’ Maison de Navarre Award in 2005.

Jay Nadkarni, B.Sc., MBA

Mr. Nadkarni is associated with Polytherapeutics as Global Business Development Advisor. Jay Nadkarni has over 20 years experience in Product Formulation, Business Development and Global Marketing . His experience in International services spans New Product Commercialization, Clinical Studies, Licensing, Technology Transfers, and Strategic Marketing with a focus on Tier-1 and 2 Emerging Markets. Jay has developed innovative business models for New Product Commercialization based on partnering Life Science companies with licensees in Emerging Markets seeking innovative products. For Polytherapeutics, Jay coordinates and leads our Market Development effort through long-term relationships with private and government entities worldwide. He assists Biotech and Pharma companies in North and Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Asia to gain access to our innovative product candidates while minimizing financial risk and maximizing global expansion. Jay is an industry-recognized expert with unique abilities to validate and bridge client needs with pragmatic solutions and offer actionable proposals for measuring returns on investment. Our cost and time efficient models are based on his commercial expertise. Jay has been Advisor and Managing Partner at Ambiance Ventures USA, and Principal Consultant to numerous global Life Science companies and CROs since 2000. During his career, he has also served as Sr. Marketing Director for New Products at Sanofi Pasteur (9 years) and International Marketing Director for Procter & Gamble Asia (6 years). Jay has an MBA in International Marketing and BSc in Biology and Immunology from the University of Mumbai (India). He is also a coveted speaker at numerous Life Science partnering events worldwide.
